Wholesalers Can Still Apply For Business Lots At Teman
KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- Wholesalers can still apply for business lots at the National Agribusiness Terminal (TEMAN) in Tunjong, near Kota Baharu.
The deadline for applications to fill the 223 lots lapses on March 7.
Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Eastern Region director Ariffin Awang said chicken, beef, fish, vegetable and fruit wholesalers as well as small-and medium-scale operators will have to attend an interview before the deadline expired, he said.
Application forms are available at the Kelantan FAMA office or can be downloaded from FAMA website at http://www.fama.gov.my," he told a media conference after signing a sale and purchase agreement Wednesday.
Ariffin said the RM200 million TEMAN or previously known as the National Food Terminal is expected to be operational in June.
TEMAN, a wholly-owned facility by FAMA, functions as a food gathering, distribution and supplying centre for east coast states.
It is the second such centre after a similar facility operating in Ipoh catering for northern region states.
The government is considering building such centres in Sabah and Sarawak.
